Before starting, ensure you have the mulch kit components, safety gloves, a wrench set, and a screwdriver ready for installation.
2. Prepare Your Mower
Turn off the mower, disconnect the spark plug for safety, and clean the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris.
3. Remove the Discharge Chute
Locate and carefully remove the discharge chute by unscrewing the bolts holding it in place. Set it aside for future use if needed.
4. Install the Mulch Plug and Baffle
Fit the mulch plug into the discharge opening and secure the baffle to redirect grass clippings back into the deck for mulching.
5. Check Blade Condition and Position
Make sure your blades are sharp and properly positioned to ensure efficient mulching performance.
6. Test Your Mower
Reconnect the spark plug, start the mower, and test the mulch kit installation by mowing a small area to check the quality of cut and mulch.
